Let’s just say that I probably got spoiled by the first two places I stayed in Myanmar… because they both had wifi, and the wifi wasn’t half bad.

Well, fast forward to the night before my trekking trip from Kalaw to Inle Lake. The wifi in Kalaw wasn’t great, but it was usable.

A few people I met along the trip and I were doing a two-night, three-day trekking trip from Kalaw to Inle Lake, and we were staying in homestays… so we knew it was going to be three days with no wifi.

Not likely to surprise anyone, but as a group of 20-somethings, we were all quite looking forward to, and in some cases needing to (work, school) get back on the grid.

Well, it wasn’t meant to be, I suppose. Our hotel had wifi, but it didn’t work for a second of our two night stay there. We found another place in town that had wifi, but the next day there was a government mandated electricity cut to the entire town.

Man, getting some work done here is tough.

More [positive] thoughts to follow on my trip to Myanmar, but photos take a little while to organize (and I have some great ones)!
