I got into points and miles around a year and a half ago, and for the last year and a half I have been trying to convince my friends and family that I’m not crazy. Little did I know, until I attended Frequent Traveler University this past April in the DC area, that there are a ton more people that are at least equally as crazy as I am. And I had never felt so at home. There are two more major miles/points event coming up this fall, and I wanted to share them with you!

First, there will be a Frequent Traveler University in Tampa from September 27 – 29. Tickets cost $100, which includes a 2-day session pass, and lunch both days. The speaker list currently consists of Stefan Krasowski (Rapid Travel Chai), Seth Miller (The Wandering Aramean), Gary Leff (View From The Wing), Ben Schlappig (One Mile At A Time), Darius Dubash (Million Mile Secrets), Summer Hull (Mommy Points), Greg Davis-Kean (Frequent Miler), and Edward Pizzarello (Pizza In Motion). The conference hotel is the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay starting at $119/night + taxes. I am not yet sure if I am going to be able to go to FTU this time around, but I’m sure it is going to be a great time!

Next up, we have the Chicago Seminars. The Chicago Seminars are from  October 11 – 13. Tickets cost $85 and includes access to all sessions and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. The Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village is the host hotel, and is already sold out for the event. The overflow hotel is the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites O’Hare, and it looks like there are still a few rooms left at $89 (not including breakfast). There will be shuttle operation between the host and overflow hotels. There are some other Priority Club hotels (and other hotels too) around the area that are reasonably priced and still available that weekend as well. For this event, you pick your sessions at the time of ticketing — and they are capacity controlled, so register sooner to have your choice of sessions! I already have my ticket to the seminars, and I just booked my hotel. I decided on the Holiday Inn Rolling Meadows – Schaumburg Area on points. Its about 6 miles away from the host hotel, but I’m planning on driving so I’ll have my car anyway! I hope to meet some of you there!
