I have been aware of Kimpton Hotels for quite a while now, but had never paid a ton of attention to them because of the fact that there aren’t a lot of them. Well, it turns out that I will be doing a fair bit of travelling to the Baltimore/DC/Alexandria area in the coming months, and there are quite a few Kimpton properties out that way. I used my IHG Platinum to match to their Inner Circle and have my first stay planned for the Hotel Monaco Baltimore mid-next week.

You can get their lower-tier status InTouch, just by signing up. This will give you the ability to earn reward nights, free WiFi, $30 in-room spa credit, room preferences, newspaper, member only offers, and a mini bar credit.

After 15 stays or 45 nights in a year, you will become part of the Inner Circle. This gives you all of the benefits listed above, plus your favorite snacks and drinks upon arrival, a dedicated reservation line, upgrades at check-in, 48-hr guaranteed availability and award redemption, a chef treat at Kimpton Restaurants, no blackout dates, and access to Kimpton’s CEO.

kimpton status benefits

I am, by far, the most excited about the ability to check out all of their new properties for free! I do have to have 3 paid stays before this benefit is unlocked, but it should be easy enough to get all of these stays, and worst case scenario I will have to switch my hotel for the Chicago Seminars and check out two different Kimpton Properties while I am there.

kimpton new hotels 2013

This year I see myself being able to visit at least three of their new properties, but maybe more. I will definitely be visiting the RiverPlace Hotel in Portland when I am there in December, and as of now I have tentative plans to visit Philadelphia in November, and stay at the Donovan House in DC during one of my trips there. I’m not sure that I will make it to California or Phoenix to check out any of the other properties this year, but if I have the chance to I most definitely will! I will have status until February 2015, so I will be looking forward to seeing what hotels I can visit for free next year. I don’t know if I will be able to get the 15 stays to maintain status with them for the following year, but depending on my experiences staying at the hotels, I may just have to try my darnedest to do just that.
